A picture is worth a thousand words — and these are worth thirty-five thousand. A photo essay from forty years of sacred travel across six continents: places, people, and beautiful food.
You know the cliche that “a picture is worth a thousand words”. It is true.
My goal with this post is to share with you the beauty I have been moved by all around the world. I’m blessed to have visited many, many places and while I do not always have time to write about them in a considered way, I have made it my practice to strive for a photograph that captures the essence of the place.
Sometimes I capture iconic buildings or beautiful natural places. I often capture beautiful food (especially breakfast) and beautiful people. I’m still timid about photographing the faces of strangers unless they are children.
When I see my photographs together, there is a mixture of thoughts and feelings – nostalgia, appreciation but most of all a sense of lightness. The world is full of more beautiful places than the opposite.
And the process of seeking out and then revisiting beauty lifts vibration. I hope that is your experience and that it inspires you to consider sacred travel. If you think I can help you with that, please visit 8 Pilgrims.
