Thank you for your interest in subscribing to iluminar.blog. I hope you like what you have read so far and will support us by receiving regular updates.
iluminar.blog is a collection of stories, reflections and images about my life and interests. It is gently paced and honest in tone, with an emphasis on meaning rather than noise.
What you will find here
The writing is gathered into a few broad threads. They overlap and speak to each other, but each has its own flavour:
- Travel: Stories and reflections from travels around the world.
- Spirituality: Explorations of faith, meaning and the inner life.
- Photography: Images and visual stories from my travels and life.
- Coogee: Life and stories from the beachside suburb of Coogee, Sydney.
- Food: Recipes, restaurants and the joy of eating well.
- Musings: Reflections on life, people and the world.
My posts vary in depth and approach. Some are brief, light and humorous and others are more scholarly. It depends on the subject and the context.
New beginnings, older stories
iluminar.blog began in July 2026. Alongside new writing, I am also bringing in material from earlier years: journal entries, notes, letters, talks and essays that are still relevant. They are being edited lightly where needed, but I am trying to let them keep the voice and questions of the time in which they were written.
This means you will sometimes see pieces that are newly written beside pieces that were shaped long ago. My hope is that, taken together, they trace a more honest and continuous story than a strictly new blog could.
There is already a lot of content on the blog. And I am putting all I’ve got into making it valuable for users. It would mean the world if you could “like” and share the posts with your networks.
What subscribing means
If you choose to subscribe, you are simply choosing to keep in touch. Here is what that looks like in practice:
- You will receive email notifications when a new post is published.
- WordPress.com may ask you to create a free account during this process. You can decline or skip account creation if prompted — you only need your email address to receive posts. However, the experience varies and some users find the account prompt difficult to avoid.
- I generally write several posts a week at present. You will receive a notification of new posts. There will be a higher volume of posts for the next few months but ultimately I will send fewer meaningful updates.
- You can unsubscribe at any time, with a single click in any email, and your choice will be respected without question.
- Your details (email address is all we collect) are managed by WordPress.com in accordance with the Privacy Policy and not used for any reason other than keeping you updated about my posts.
If you have trouble, try opening the confirmation link in a private/incognito browser window. If the problem persists, you can contact WordPress.com support directly.
I am grateful for your attention and the trust it represents. Subscribing is one way of saying that these conversations matter to you, and I do not take that lightly.
