Second time line – Veneration of the relic of St Francis of Assisi
A second visit to the relics of St Francis in Assisi — mass in the upper basilica, the Basilica of St Clare, San Damiano, St Mary of the Angels, and 19km of walking through the beautiful Umbrian countryside. (4 min read)
Second time line for the relic of St Francis today.
Lots of musing about stigmatisation in the era of divine mercy resolved when I overheard conversation. Also musing about the desirability of providing energy to support the veneration process. Also went to mass in the upper basilica (in Italian) and then ate the local sultana thing for breakfast along with the best hot chocolate of my life.
Visited the Basilica of St Clare, San Damiano and St Mary of the Angels…and a lot of walking through the beautiful countryside of Assisi listening to my San Francesco play list.
Walked 19K steps (13km) and feel like I am literally moving forward.
Very much focused on my divine mercy question in St Mary of the Angels – became teary in empathy for woman in extreme pain and tried to assist energetically. It looked to me like Padre Pio was on her shoulder… but it was a HUGE mistake to tell her this. I was praying for discernment about how to respond and should have kept silent! I freaked out that I had perhaps sinned. She didn’t speak English and wasn’t interested in talking to me, so hopefully no harm done for her… but in fact, I did see her pain turn around. I’m asking for this to be cleaned up while I sleep.
Tomorrow I am doing a guided tour of the relic, will visit the shrine of S. Carlo Acutis and may walk up Mount Subiaso and get a spa afterwards… just mindful of not asking too much of my feet.
