Love across the ditch
A long weekend in Wellington — meditation, Te Papa, Maori culture, and the strong earth energy of a city that had just had an earthquake. (3 min read)
I’ve just had a long weekend in New Zealand catching up with beloved pilgrim clan, meeting some new friends at the Case de Jose and seeing the sights of Wellington, especially Te Papa – the National Museum of New Zealand.
what a lovely time! Wellington is charming. It has an awesome natural environment not unlike Rio and beautiful Victorian houses like the famous ones in San Francisco.
The city put on nice December weather (cf Sydney!!). The earth energy is hugely different in Wellington and i’m still integrating that. There was an earthquake the day before i arrived – unbeknown to me – and i felt it immediately, without knowing what it was!
The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen connection with our meditation group in New Zealand and to the complete the work from the pilgrimage together. It was a beautiful, easy and joyful experience.
As for Te Papa, the highlight is the bi-cultural nature of the place and the opportunity to learn and feel a bit of Maori culture. There is strong spiritual presence on this land and I captured a little of that in my photos.
