Zara and Camper are the twin peaks of Barcelona and I defeated both of them
A short, sharp visit to Barcelona — Gaudi, La Sagrada Familia, markets, beach, and a near-miss with a pickpocket at Rome’s Termini. (2 min read)
I have had a lovely, albeit very short, visit to Barcelona. Our hotel was very well located just off La Ramblas at Placa Catalunya – near plenty of sites, shops and places to eat. I will write something more thoughtful after Assisi, but as you can see from the photos, I have been very busy – at the markets, visiting the Gaudi sites and visiting the beach.
La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s as yet unfinished masterpiece, was the highlight of the visit for me. An awesome example of architectural greatness. I have posted some pics and will provide some more info later.
At the moment, I’m at the Termini in Rome (thinking of the last time I was here when Prue and I got robbed). I’ve been hissing (on the inside) at gypsies, tramps and thieves. Peter got robbed by one in Barcelona and had a near miss with another. I’m determined not to give them any business.
