Is over the moon better than over the south pole?
A quick check-in from Buenos Aires and a flight home over the South Pole — with a haircut, good food and a farewell to travel blogging.
Howdy.
I’m home safe in Coogee without any travel problems and have finally got my hair cut. What a relief to lose all that vacation hair!
My time in Buenos Aires was far too short, but easy. The hotel was really charming and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Excellent position and value for money. I also ate at Bio – considered the best vego restaurant in BA. Really, really nice… but there was pepper in the food.
I spent more money in BA in 2 days than in 5 weeks in Brazil. There are lots of shops and things to spend money on.
As for the city of BA, I have only fleeting impressions – MUCH bigger than I expected; some fabulous early 1900’s architecture… most of which needs renovation; a lot of public art – most of which seemed quite political… which I guess is inevitable in a country with so many political problems.
Flying home was much easier this year (only 14 hrs this time), and I got to see (and photograph) the South Pole. That was pretty special… though it is hard to know whether all the cracks in the ice are normal or from global warming.
I think this might be the end of my blogging for a while… unless there is overwhelming interest in knowing about my musings on life in Coogee.
Much love to all… and thanks for all the love and support while I was in Brasil.
